Previous Position:

I am certified through an Alternative Teacher Certification Program (Texas Teachers). After graduating from SHSU, I became the Catering Coordinator for The Teapot Depot in Highlands, a tearoom I had previously numerous Summer jobs at. While working at the tearoom I searched for my “dream job” working in Food and Beverage in a sports or entertainment-related industry. In 2012 I accepted a position as the Food & Beverage Director for the Bakersfield Blaze the Cincinnati Reds Single-A affiliate at the time. I absolutely loved it, but wishing to be back home in Texas and not in California I only stayed one season.

When I moved back home I was offered a General Manager position at The Teapot Depot. I was the GM there from November 2012- July 2018. In 2017 I began an Alt Certification program which I completed in August of 2018. 2018-2019 was my first teaching at DHS, teaching period. I was nominated by the faculty and staff and the winner of the Rookie Teacher of the Year for our campus. I believe working with “Game Day” staff, volunteering with my youth group, and managing teenagers at The Teapot Depot helped prepare me for teaching. I also, feel that my servants heart has been very beneficial to my students.

Here at Dayton High School I received the Rookie of the Year Teacher Award, voted on by Administrators and other Faculty and Staff for 2018-2019.

I am also the current DHS Student Council Sponsor

Family Information:

I am the oldest of 4 kids with a 13 year gap between myself and my youngest sibling. And I am a proud “dog mom” to a Chiweenie Yorkie mix named Major. He is absolutely adorable. My classes like seeing pictures of him growing and hearing stories about him.
