“Lunch Box Mentality”
What does this mean?
*This means getting up expecting to put in the time and effort necessary to build your destiny.
*Belief that hard work and diligence have a moral benefit and an inherent ability, virtue or value to strengthen character and individual abilities.
*Be on time every day ready to work, learn, and get better.
*Uplift! Everybody has bad days. Never criticize a teammate, find a way to help him.
*Never use profanity & be respectful (Yes sir/No sir!). Leaders show respect, and you have to give it to get it.
*Take care of your classroom business. Make good decisions 100% of the time.
*The most important thing in life is family & love. Remember that families go through good and bad times. It’s all about how you handle it.
*Play the right way. This means playing unselfishly, respect each other’s achievements, play hard, and fulfill your role. There is NO substitution for hustle, but if you don’t hustle, there will be substitution because the game honors toughness.
*Basketball is a beautiful game when all five players on the court play with one heartbeat which means looking for activity. I put players in and take players out based on effort and defense.
*Winning is more related to good defense and limited mistakes on offense. Being the “cool kid” on the court is the wrong approach to take. But, being the best teammate at all times will take you a long way. The best teams play for each other not with each other!
*Great teams have two things in common: DEFENSE and REBOUNDING!
*Check your baggage at the gym door, you are here to work!
*Putting the team first.
*Sacrifice for others’ success.
*Be the first one in the gym and the last one to leave.
